Technical Support For 300 MW Lake Turkana Wind Power Project

SandRose provided technical advisory support to Anergi, the largest investor in the 300 MW Lake Turkana Wind Power  (LTWP) project, until Financial Close on matters such as wind resource assessment, wind energy production estimate, wind power forecasting and system integration.

The LTWP project is a 300-MW, €623 million grid connected wind farm that reached Financial Close on December 11, 2014. It is the largest single wind power project to be constructed in Africa and is, to date, the largest private investment in the history of Kenya and arguably one of the most complex and challenging project financing undertaken in the renewable energy space in sub-Saharan Africa. The LTWP investors include: Aldwych International, the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Ltd,  Industrial Fund for Developing Countries, KLP Norfund Investments , Vestas Eastern Africa .
